NoiZe is a graphical MIDI Patch Editor and Librarian that
lets you easily store, organize, and edit System Exclusive
(SYSEX) patch data for synthesizers, effects units, and other MIDI devices
using the power and flexibility of your computer.
NoiZe lets you edit your patches on your computer's screen
using your mouse and 3D graphic controls instead of wrestling with
the buttons and tiny display on your instrument's front panel.

How to Use:
- Download the file.
- Run the downloaded file by double-clicking the file in Windows
Explorer, or using the Run command on the Windows Start
menu.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to install the
full trial version of NoiZe for Windows Version 3.21.
NOTE: If you are upgrading from a prior Version of
NoiZe, be sure to install the new version in a different
folder from your existing version of NoiZe.
The new version will allow you to migrate your existing configuration and
data from your prior version without affecting your existing data.
Please see the ReadMe.txt file and the Installation instructions for details.
Editor Modules
This section contains any NoiZe Editor Modules that have been
updated or have become available after the installation file was created.
Updates to Version 3.21
None.
The most recent versions of all available Editor Modules are included with the
Version 3.21
NoiZe program installation file, above.

How to Use:
To install and use these files with NoiZe or
NoiZe:Lib, proceed as follows:
-
Download the Editor Module file(s) you wish to install.
-
Copy the downloaded files
into your NoiZe Modules directory (the default is
C:\Program Files\Terzoid Software\NoiZe3.2\Modules for Version 3.21 and
C:\Noize3\MonEgfs for Version 3.00),
where the equivalent files are already installed.
If you wish, you can rename these files (be sure to keep the .NZM
extension!) to preserve the contents of your existing files.

Start NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib.
-
Use the File|Instrument|Install Editor Module menu command to open
the Install Editor Module dialog.
-
Make sure that the Directory combo box contains the name of the
directory that you copied the downloaded Editor Module files into in
Step 2.
-
Locate and select the new Editor Module in the Editor Module list.
The version number and date in the EdMod Version column are for
the downloaded Editor Module file. The version number and date in the
Installed Version column are for the currently installed Editor
Module.
If the downloaded EdMod Version is greater than the Installed Version,
or if you wish to install it as a new Editor Module,
click the Install button to install the downloaded Editor Module.
Answer Yes to replace the currently installed Editor Module.

Repeat Step 6 for any additional instruments you wish to install.

Click the Close button on the Install Editor Module dialog.
If you installed any new Editor Modules, you may want to
add the instruments to any Projects that you wish to use them in, or
create new Projects (see the NoiZe Help file for details).
Librarian Modules for NoiZe and NoiZe:Lib
This section contains the NoiZe Librarian Modules
developed by Terzoid Software and by other NoiZe users.
They are contained in simple text files, that can be imported into
NoiZe and NoiZe:Lib.
Note: These files are included with the
NoiZe program installation file, above.

The Ensoniq TS10/TS12 Librarian Module was updated to fix a bug in
the Program Bank interface that erroneously sent Program Banks to the U0
bank on the TS-10, even if a different bank was selected in NoiZe.

setting Memory Protection On/Off and additional voice interfaces.

Using Downloaded Librarian Modules
This section describes how to install and use these files with
NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib.
NOTE: Any references to NoiZe in the following procedures refer
to NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib equally.
Select the procedure that matches what you wish to do with the Librarian
Modules that you are downloading:
Replacing a Librarian Module for a currently installed instrument
If you wish to replace the Librarian Module for an instrument that you currently have
installed in NoiZe, proceed as follows:
-
Backup your entire NoiZe Installation directory and all
subdirectories using Windows Explorer or the backup utility of your choice.
-
Download the file(s) containing the Librarian Modules you wish to install.
-
Copy the downloaded files (unzip them first if you got the zipped version)
into your NoiZe Modules directory where the equivalent files
are already installed.
The default location for Version 3.2x is
C:\Program Files\Terzoid Software\NoiZe3.2\Modules, and the default
location for Version 3.0x is C:\Noize3\Modules.
If you wish, you can rename the old files before you copy the new files
into the directory (be sure to keep the .NZI extension!) to
preserve their contents.

Start NoiZe.
-
Use the File|Instrument|Uninstall menu command to open
the UnInstall Instrument dialog.
-
Select the instrument you wish to replace in the
Instruments list, and click the UnInstall button.
-
A message box will open indicating that the selected Instrument is
currently used in one or more Instrument Setups.
Answer Yes to remove the instrument anyway.
-
Click the OK buton on the message box indicating that the instrument
was successfully removed.
-
Repeat steps 6, 7, and 8, above, for any additional
instruments you wish to replace.
-
Click the Close button on the UnInstall Instrument dialog to
close the dialog.
-
Use the File|Instrument|Install Librarian Module menu command to open
the Install Librarian Module dialog.
-
Click the Browse button on the Install Librarian Module dialog
and select the downloaded file.
-
Select the instrument you wish to replace in the
Instruments list, and click the Install button.
Answer Yes to install the Librarian Module.
-
Click the OK buton on the message box indicating that the Librarian
Module was successfully installed.
-
Repeat steps 12, 13, and 14, above, for any additional
instruments you wish to replace.
-
Click the Close button on the Install Librarian Module dialog.
-
Close and restart NoiZe.
This is important!
If you don't close and restart NoiZe, it will not recognize
the new Librarian Module.
-
Use the File|Open Project menu command to open a Project containing
the instrument you replaced.
Visually inspect the Patch and Bank Editors in your project to make sure
that everything looks right with the new Librarian Module.
Congratulations! You may use and enjoy the new features provided by the
Librarian Module.
Installing a Librarian Module for a new instrument
If you wish to install a Librarian Module for an instrument that is not already
installed on your system, proceed as follows:

Download the file(s) containing the Librarian Modules you wish to install.
-
Copy the downloaded files (unzip them first if you got the zipped version)
into your NoiZe Modules directory where the equivalent files
are already installed.
The default location for Version 3.2x is
C:\Program Files\Terzoid Software\NoiZe3.2\Modules, and the default
location for Version 3.0x is C:\Noize3\Modules.
If you wish, you can rename the old files before you copy the new files
into the directory (be sure to keep the .NZI extension!) to
preserve their contents.

Start NoiZe.
-
Use the File|Instrument|Install Librarian Module menu command to open
the Install Librarian Module dialog.
-
Click the Browse button on the Install Librarian Module dialog
and select the downloaded file.
-
Select the instrument you wish to install a Librarian Module for in the
Instruments list, and click the Install button.
Answer Yes to install the Librarian Module.

Repeat steps 5 and 6, above, for any additional instruments
you wish to install.

Click the Close button on the Install Librarian Module dialog.

Add an Instrument Setup for each instrument using the
Setups|Instrument Setups menu command (see the NoiZe
Help file for details).

Add the instruments to each Project that you wish to use them in, or
create new Projects (see the NoiZe
Help file for details).
Congratulations! You may use and enjoy the features provided by the
Librarian Module.
Help Files
This section contains the Windows Help files that come with
NoiZe.
From time to time, we may update the various Help files to correct any errors
or omissions.
In such cases we will make the updated Help files available here for you to
download, so you can have the latest information without having to download
and install the entire application again.
