How to Use:

To install and use these files with NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib, proceed as follows:

  1. Download the Editor Module file(s) you wish to install.

  2. Copy the downloaded files into your NoiZe Modules directory (the default is C:\Program Files\Terzoid Software\NoiZe3.2\Modules for Version 3.21 and C:\Noize3\MonEgfs for Version 3.00), where the equivalent files are already installed. If you wish, you can rename these files (be sure to keep the .NZM extension!) to preserve the contents of your existing files.

  3. Start NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib.

  4. Use the File|Instrument|Install Editor Module menu command to open the Install Editor Module dialog.

  5. Make sure that the Directory combo box contains the name of the directory that you copied the downloaded Editor Module files into in Step 2.

  6. Locate and select the new Editor Module in the Editor Module list. The version number and date in the EdMod Version column are for the downloaded Editor Module file. The version number and date in the Installed Version column are for the currently installed Editor Module. If the downloaded EdMod Version is greater than the Installed Version, or if you wish to install it as a new Editor Module, click the Install button to install the downloaded Editor Module. Answer Yes to replace the currently installed Editor Module.

  7. Repeat Step 6 for any additional instruments you wish to install.

  8. Click the Close button on the Install Editor Module dialog.

If you installed any new Editor Modules, you may want to add the instruments to any Projects that you wish to use them in, or create new Projects (see the NoiZe Help file for details).

Using Downloaded Librarian Modules

This section describes how to install and use these files with NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib. NOTE: Any references to NoiZe in the following procedures refer to NoiZe or NoiZe:Lib equally.

Select the procedure that matches what you wish to do with the Librarian Modules that you are downloading:

Replacing a Librarian Module for a currently installed instrument

If you wish to replace the Librarian Module for an instrument that you currently have installed in NoiZe, proceed as follows:
  1. Backup your entire NoiZe Installation directory and all subdirectories using Windows Explorer or the backup utility of your choice.

  2. Download the file(s) containing the Librarian Modules you wish to install.

  3. Copy the downloaded files (unzip them first if you got the zipped version) into your NoiZe Modules directory where the equivalent files are already installed. The default location for Version 3.2x is C:\Program Files\Terzoid Software\NoiZe3.2\Modules, and the default location for Version 3.0x is C:\Noize3\Modules. If you wish, you can rename the old files before you copy the new files into the directory (be sure to keep the .NZI extension!) to preserve their contents.

  4. Start NoiZe.

  5. Use the File|Instrument|Uninstall menu command to open the UnInstall Instrument dialog.

  6. Select the instrument you wish to replace in the Instruments list, and click the UnInstall button.

  7. A message box will open indicating that the selected Instrument is currently used in one or more Instrument Setups. Answer Yes to remove the instrument anyway.

  8. Click the OK buton on the message box indicating that the instrument was successfully removed.

  9. Repeat steps 6, 7, and 8, above, for any additional instruments you wish to replace.

  10. Click the Close button on the UnInstall Instrument dialog to close the dialog.

  11. Use the File|Instrument|Install Librarian Module menu command to open the Install Librarian Module dialog.

  12. Click the Browse button on the Install Librarian Module dialog and select the downloaded file.

  13. Select the instrument you wish to replace in the Instruments list, and click the Install button. Answer Yes to install the Librarian Module.

  14. Click the OK buton on the message box indicating that the Librarian Module was successfully installed.

  15. Repeat steps 12, 13, and 14, above, for any additional instruments you wish to replace.

  16. Click the Close button on the Install Librarian Module dialog.

  17. Close and restart NoiZe.  This is important!  If you don't close and restart NoiZe, it will not recognize the new Librarian Module.

  18. Use the File|Open Project menu command to open a Project containing the instrument you replaced. Visually inspect the Patch and Bank Editors in your project to make sure that everything looks right with the new Librarian Module.

Congratulations! You may use and enjoy the new features provided by the Librarian Module.

If you wish, you can rename the old files before you copy the new files into the directory (be sure to keep the .NZI extension!) to preserve their contents.

  3. Start NoiZe.

  4. Use the File|Instrument|Install Librarian Module menu command to open the Install Librarian Module dialog.

  5. Click the Browse button on the Install Librarian Module dialog and select the downloaded file.
